Trek Details

Friendship Peak is a majestic mountain peak located in the Pir Panjal Ranges of Kullu District. This less known peak covered with snow is perched at an altitude of 5,289 meters above the sea level. This  The best route to access this peak is through Dhundi and Beas Kund. The ideal time to climb this peak is from May to June and September to October. Bhunter  Airport and Bus from Delhi to Manali is the best way to reach Manali.  Friendship peak in the Beas Kund area is an ideal non-technical trekking peak for those with limited or no mountaineering knowledge.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Manali

Guests arriving by bus will be received at the bus stand by members of our team. From here, we drive you to your hotel for rest and freshening up. Guests are free to spend their day exploring the local attractions in and around Manali. After lunch, we host a small orientation and briefing session on the trek.

Day 2Manali – Dhundi – Bakerthach (2 Hours drive, 2 Hours trek)

We depart in the morning after breakfast for Dhundi, located near Solang Nala. From here our trek begins. We trek through lush greenery and forest vegetation along the Palani Thach, before arriving at Bakarthach, a beautiful meadow and our campsite for the day. We set up camp and spend the rest of the day exploring and acclimatizing to our surroundings before turning in for the night.

Day 3Bakerthach – Beas Kund Base camp

After breakfast, we pack up our belongings and set out for our next stop on this journey. We head out today for Beas Kund, a popular trekking destination. We cross rocky terrain until we reach the Beas Kund, a basecamp for a number of treks conducted in this region like Shitidhar and Ladakhi trails. We unwind and partake of lunch before heading out to explore our surroundings.

Day 4Acclimatization and Training Day at Beas Kund Base Camp

Today is acclimatization day as we head out for a short walk to the Beas Kund. We spend today learning about the different techniques needed for most Summit attempts. We teach you different techniques required for ascending and descending ice walls, breaking falls in snow conditions and use of equipment like ice axes, ropes and knots used for them.

After distribution of equipment, guests can spend their time as they please.

Day 5Base camp – Advance Base Camp (5 Hours trek)

After breakfast, we head out today for the Advance Base Camp. We ascend uphill through the mountain trail for a few hours until we reach camp. We set up camp here and prepare for the summit attempt. We retire early for the night as we depart before dawn.

Day 6Advance Camp – Summit Attempt – Bakertach (11 Hours trek)

We depart early before dawn in order to reach the summit by late morning. Today is a hard day of climbing as we cross crevasses and ridges and ascend on an incline until we reach the top of the mountain. Flush from our triumph, we bask in the stunning views of the Lahaul Spiti Valley, the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar range all around us. We head back after a while, heading straight for our camp at Bakarthach. We arrive in time for lunch, following which guests are free to spend the rest of the day at their own leisure.

Day 7Bakarthach – Dhundi – Manali (2 Hours trek, 2 Hours Drive)

Today is the end of your journey as we descend back the way we came to reach Dhundi. From here, our vehicles will receive you and drop you off at Manali. Guests can spend time exploring and sightseeing before catching their evening bus back.

Cancellations & Refunds
  • If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made within 0-15 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and in such cases the operator will try his best to provide an alternate feasible activity. However no refund will be provided for the same.
  • The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.

Eligibility:

Friendship Peak is made only for experienced trekkers who want to test their limits. The challenges faced in the trek should not be underestimated. You should attempt this trek only If you have already done a trek that climbs to 4700-5000 meters. It is recommended not to opt this trek if you cannot get acclimatized at high altitudes. Besides you need to have a strong physical endurance to complete this trek.

Fitness Required

Jog/Run for 5 Kms in 25-30 mins Or Walk continuously for 10 km(with 3-4 small breaks) on plain terrain (slight incline is better) and Hold your breath for 40 seconds and 3 sets of Climbing 30 – 40 steps in one stretch and Push Ups – 10 and Lunges & Squats – 15 X 2 sets
